GNR!!
For Five Years Straight, Guns N' Roses reigned as the most popular and celebrated rock band on the planet. Famous not only for killer hits like Welcome To The Jungle, Sweet Child O' Mine, Patience, November Rain, and Paradise City; Guns N' Roses' heavy drug and alcohol use, controversial lyrics, iconic guitarist Slash and their badass, sleazy rock n roll attitude made teens of the time love them even more. Guns N' Roses came from the ashes of two bands, L.A. Guns and Hollywood Rose. They sprang to the top of the charts with their hit album "Appetite For Destruction" which included their biggest hit "Sweet Child O' Mine" along with 11 other Hard Rock classics. A little over a year later, in 1988 Guns N' Roses found themselves writing very similar songs for their new album. It didn't take them long to change it up, and it soon became a Half-Live, Half-Acoustic 8 song EP. It was entitled "Lies". Though GNR's most famous and best songs come from "Appetite For Detruction" there is another album by them that sold more copies. On September 17th, 1991 Guns N' Roses released the double album, Use Your Illusion I and II. On these albums, former Cult drummer Matt Sorum replaced Steven Adler. The tour following the albums sparked the infamous St. Louis Riot. Where while performing the song "Rocket Queen" singer Axl Rose jumped into the audience and started beating up someone in the crowd who was taking pictures of the show with a camera. When Axl got back on stage, he said "Thanks to the lame ass security, I'm going home!". The band left and soon a riot started where many people were injured and Guns N' Roses lost over $1 million worth of equipment. Axl was arrested after the incident. Speaking of Incidents, Guns N' Roses released their 5th album called "The Spaghetti Incident?" in 1993. This album was a compilation of rock covers by GNR. Soon after the release of this album, Guns N' Roses broke up in 1994 and pretty much disappeared from the rock scene until 2008. They released the most anticipated album in all of rock music called "Chinese Democracy". Unfortunately this album was somewhat of a failure because of the fact the Axl Rose was the only original member to record on the album.
Hopefully we will see a reunion soon!
